The project involved the partial demolition and comprehensive redevelopment of the existing funeral home facilities to create a modern, purpose designed premises capable of meeting the operational requirements of a busy independent funeral director, whilst maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment for visiting families.

The scheme sought to improve the functionality of the building through the reconfiguration of internal spaces, enhancement of staff and visitor facilities, and the integration of modern building standards.

External alterations were carefully designed to complement the character of the surrounding Chatsworth Road streetscape whilst providing a contemporary and professional appearance.

MJB Technical Services managed the project from the initial design and planning stages through to Building Regulations approval and completion on site.

Our role included the preparation of architectural drawings, planning and Building Regulations submissions, coordination with consultants and contractors, and liaison with both the Local Planning Authority and Building Control throughout the construction process.

The completed development delivers modern, accessible and efficient facilities, ensuring the business can continue serving the Chesterfield community for generations to come whilst maintaining the high standards expected of a long-established family funeral director.
