MJB Technical Services were appointed to provide architectural design services, planning permission and building regulations support for the conversion and redevelopment of an existing commercial building within a designated conservation area in Sheffield.

The project involves the change of use and refurbishment of an existing office building to create six luxury self-contained apartments.

The development has been carefully designed to maximise the potential of the site whilst delivering spacious, contemporary homes within a highly sought-after urban location.

Due to the site's location within a conservation area, careful consideration was given to the building's architectural character and its relationship with the surrounding streetscape.

The proposed alterations have been designed to respect the significance of the area whilst providing a modern and sustainable residential development.

A key focus of the scheme has been the quality of the living environment. Particular attention was given to apartment layouts, natural daylight, privacy and resident amenity to create homes that offer generous accommodation and an exceptional standard of living.

MJB Technical Services has supported the project from the initial feasibility and concept design stages through to securing planning permission and building regulations approval.

The project is currently under construction and will provide six bespoke apartments within one of Sheffield's most established residential neighbourhoods.

The development is due for completion late summer 2026.
