We have over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, and our experience incorporates a vast and diverse range of projects both nationally and internationally.
Our sectors include emergency services, retail and commercial, health, education, industrial, leisure, airports, rail, and residential.
We have a proven track record of maintaining through planning, listed building consent, Chesterfield building regulation drawings, and general building regulation approval.
MJB Technical Services is a specialist architectural design studio and structural engineer located in Chesterfield, but servicing nationwide.
We offer services in planning, including planning applications, structural, architectural, and 3D surveys.
Our clients range from international design consultancies, structural consulting engineers, chartered surveyors, developers, investors, and homeowners.

Michael – Founder & Managing Director
Michael is the founder and Managing Director of MJB Technical Services.
He has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry and has held managerial positions within market-leading international consultancies.
His drive for pursuing this career comes from his great-grandfather, W.G.R. Sprague, whose love of heritage buildings saw him design many theatres in London with unsupported balconies.
Michael’s knowledge and experience lie across many sectors and range across a broad spectrum of projects both locally and internationally.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys walking, being outdoors on his motorcycle and is a keen golfer, having played for the county at junior level.
James – Project Manager
James has been in the construction industry for 10 years.
Starting out as an apprentice, he has worked his way up to a Managing Level.
This means he now handles his own projects, undertakes site surveys, communicates with external bodies such as engineers, councils, case officers, and clients.
James is quick to learn and has a real passion for assessing the practicalities of software such as Revit and AutoCad and finding the most efficient methods of working.
The knowledge that he has gained over the last 10 years has enabled him to work his way from a simplistic job to one of a complex size.
In his spare time, James enjoys a ‘good’ game of golf and playing video games.


Bronwyn – Project Manager
She started her journey in the construction industry in 2024 as the office manager at the company.
While she is new to the field, she is eager to learn and contribute to the team’s success.
Bronwyn is committed to growing her skills and knowledge with the goal of advancing to more technical roles in the future.
Outside of work, Bronwyn likes to spend time with her family, friends, and her mini Daschund, Tilly.
Barbara – Administrator
Barbara joined the company in 2021 & supports with the administration/finance side of the business.
Having always worked in Administration, Barbara prides herself on being organised and ensuring a smooth running of the office.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoys decorating, crafting, and walking.
